(taken directly from etcbc missions policy)

ETCBC believes that local outreach and Mission are related and interdependent.
The emphasis of the Mission ministry is to focus on the following three (3) areas,
with the hope that the continuity of the vision will be maintained with subsequent
mission committee personnel changes:

Raising awareness, support and participation of ETCBC congregants in local ministries.Raising awareness and support of ETCBC congregants in ministries based in North, South and Central America, with a future vision of sending short term participants and long term workers.Raising awareness and support of ETCBC congregants in ministries based in Asia, with a future vision of sending short term participants and long term workers.

We believe that Jesus gave his people direct instruction on being the SALT and LIGHT of the world (Matthew 5: 13-16). How this plays out in word and action is a dynamic relationship that we, as a community, continue to explore and desire to act upon. (Some examples of further reading in this area see Good works and good deeds by R. Sider, Kingdom Ethics by Stassen & Gushee, Reaching out without dumbing down by Marva Dawn, Missional Church by D. Guder, Forgotten Ways by A. Hirsch, and Borderland Churches by G. Nelson for a few suggestions to get started)

Locally, ETCBC has been actively involved in our local community (Victoria Village), and has participated with several Habitat for Humanity builds, various refugee ministries, and several other opportunities on individual and group levels.
